GURURAJ J R: Born-1954, Parents: Late Rangacharya Jois M J, Smt Susheelamma. By profession, Lecturer in History at Govt. College (Rtd.). Music lover and Learner by hobby. His father was a Harmonium artist and a Light Music Singer. Learnt Hindusthani style of music with Vidwan A Chandrasekhara Gavai, while he was serving in Bellary.

Founder President of “Swarasangama” , a Cultural Organisation which gathered together many music lovers in Bellary and organized hundreads of concerts by inviting renowned artists from all over India during 1991-2001. When he came over to Bengaluru established “Swarashree Music Academy®, in 2015 and published “Raga Darshana” a book on Introduction to Hindusthani Music in English.

He is training number of students in Hindusthani Light Classical Music in his Institute at Present. He was closely associated with Sri Purandara Aaraadhanotsava of Hampi. Participated in many programmes since his childhood. A team lead by him presented Devotional Music Concert at world famous Hampi Utsav in 2016.
